Busy Tots
Ages: 2 ½ - 3 years
Duration: +- 24 weeks, 20 minutes to ½ an hour per class
Content:
- In this stage children are free to do the activity they wish and our emphasis is on listening and following the coaches instructions.
- The main objective is concentration and attention skills while children are encouraged to persevere on one task for a long enough period for them to learn.
- We try to develop a child's independence and emotional maturity in order for them to participate in all the activities.
Level 1
Ages: 3 – 4 years
Duration: + - 34 Weeks, ½ an hour to 45 minutes per class
Content:
- Development of large muscle and coordination
(hand-eye and foot-eye).
- Developing a child’s self image and good posture.
- Strengthening their muscles and developing agility, balance and movement.
- Learning to become aware of their body parts and physical abilities and limitations.
- Understanding your body has two sides and two planes; left and right, top and bottom.
- Learning to move each side of the body independently of each other.
- Establishing dominance at which side of the body is preferred, left or right.
- Developing independence, confidence and emotional maturity.
- Developing listening skills by following instructions.
- Developing perseverance – learning to concentrate by focusing on a task for increasing periods of time.
Level 2
Ages: 4 – 4 1/2
Duration: + - 28 weeks, 1 hour
Content:
- Main objective – a warm, caring introduction to sport participation.
- It is made up of lots of fun creative games, all with specific objectives, which gives children the opportunity to learn many basic skills in a non-threatening and non-intimidating sporting environment.
- Developing confidence, concentration and independence as well as social skills.
- Crossing the mid-line, spatial orientation and perception skills.
Level 3
Ages: 4 1/2 – 5
Duration: + - 24 weeks, 1 hour
Content:
- Progressively and systematically develop your child’s physical competence.
- Developing a broad base of skills on which to build.
- Give children the opportunity to participate in a positive and unintimidating sporting environment.
- Development of emotional well-being e.g. develop a positive self esteem, overcome the fear of failure and learn to persevere.
- Develop social skills e.g. communication, tolerance, teamwork and leadership.
- Learn and acquire all the basic skills needed for the sports that we focus on, in the mini sports programme.
