Busyballers coach at St Thomas home for abused and abandoned children from 14 months to 10 years old once a week. The Home is based in Sydenham and many of the children are infected with HIV and some affected by it. We have decided to take this on as a coaching project where the coaches go to the Home once a week and provide sports coaching for the Grade 1-3 children. They have also participated in the Busyballers Mini League on Saturday mornings.
The St Thomas Children just love it!
Last term we did hockey and soccer and this term we are doing cricket. We have been very lucky and have had 4 companies sponsor the Home. Kalahari Kidz have sponsored practice t-shirts, The Hardy Boys have sponsored brand new kit and hockey sticks, Kaytech have sponsored the cricket equipment and ABI have given us some Coke a cola soccer balls. The children also join us at the holiday clinics that we run over the school holidays. They will also be joining us at our end of year Christmas party and prize giving on 3 December where the Busyballers children will be handing gifts to them.
